New York real estate shines over gloomy US market


Unperturbed by the declining US housing sector, New York's housing property market is thriving.

By means of mortgage rates and property prices at significant lows, the city's wealthy residents are cashing in on the economic conjuncture to get a pad at good deal values.

Real estate agencies are coverage a surge in activity in personal home sales in the Big Apple in fresh months.

"Right now we are actually experiencing an attractive strong market... A lot of movement, a lot of signing agreements," said Pamela Liebman, CEO of The Corcoran Group, New York's major residential real estate agency.

"This has been one of my best years," says Ariel Cohen, managerial vice-president at Prudential Douglas Elliman, an additional agency.
