McCollum invites banks to help sort out foreclosure problems

Florida lawyer General Bill McCollum wants five of the nation's main banks to come to Tallahassee and work with him on fixing the current foreclosure swamp.

In letters sent Tuesday to official at Bank of America, JPMorgan Chase, PNC Financial Services, GMAC Mortgage, and Litton Loan Servicing, McCollum spoken concern over the postponement of foreclosure events in the state and the effect on the financial system.

"I am requesting that you come to Tallahassee to meet with me as soon as probable to discuss ways to promptly and successfully redeem the integrity of the foreclosure process and ensure the marketability of real estate titles in Florida," McCollum wrote, adding that he realize it could take months, or even years, to accurate the problems.
