Property managers back derivatives fund launch

A number of of the largest real estate managers are support the launch of the UK's first assets derivative fund.

The vehicle offers income linked to the IPD UK benchmark possessions index, through the use of swaps and futures contracts, the Financial Times news.

It will be started by a new group, inProp Capital, created by previous members of Bank of America's possessions derivative team.

The fund has been stoned by the SWIP possessions trust, Skandia possessions fund and Prudential's real estate fund manager PRUPIM.
