
A speculation group led by New York-based real estate industrialist Mark Karasick purchased the U.S. Steel Tower, Pittsburgh's tallest place of work building, for $250 million, or concerning $107 per square foot.
The 64-story, 2.3 million-square-foot, and class A office tower is situated at 600 Grant St. It was designed by planning firm Harrison, Abramowitz & Abbe in the 1970s, and is celebrated for its triangular shape with sunken corners and its corrosion-resistant steel facade. The building includes a 650-space subversive parking garage.
A speculation team led by AREA material goods Partners, formerly Apollo Real Estate Advisors, sold the well-performing asset after disastrously attempting to refinance the $229 million loan it owed to Bank of America for its 1999 gaining and succeeding improvements to the tower.
