Herndon, VA-based American Real Estate Partners has selected John Chesley as Managing Director, Asset organization and Scott Sterling as Managing Director & General Counsel.
Prior to joining American Real Estate Partners, Chesley was a Senior benefit Manager in the real estate fund separation of The Carlyle Group in Washington, D.C. While at The Carlyle Group, Chesley lead multiple operating teams in the speculation management of an opportunistic American Real Estate speculation selection consisting of development, hospitality, residential, office and retail assets all the way through the U.S He developed and executed the investment policy for the portfolio and were responsible for leading several flourishing asset repositioning plays throughout his occupation at The Carlyle Group.
Chesley holds a Masters in Taxation and Finance from The University of Texas at Austin and a B.B.A in economics and secretarial from The University of Miami.
